Not a substitute for professional advice
Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional — such as a registered dietitian, physician, or licensed nutritionist — with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition, a nutritional plan, or before changing your diet, exercise routine, or supplement intake.
Calculator limitations
Energy-expenditure and macronutrient calculators use population-average equations (primarily Mifflin-St Jeor for BMR). Their output is an estimate, typically within 10% of actual expenditure for the average adult. Individual factors that calculators cannot account for include — but are not limited to — medical conditions (thyroid disorders, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome), medications, pregnancy or breastfeeding, extreme body composition, age extremes, and eating-disorder history. Do not rely on calculator output as the sole basis for any clinical or weight-management decision.
AI meal analysis limitations
Nouri's AI calorie counter analyzes meal photos to estimate portion size and macronutrient content. It can and does make mistakes, especially with mixed dishes, unusual ingredients, and non-standard serving sizes. Treat results as a guide, not a precise measurement. Do not use AI meal analysis to manage conditions that require tight nutritional control (e.g., diabetes insulin dosing, phenylketonuria, celiac disease, diagnosed allergies) without clinician oversight.
Emergencies
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the United States, 112 in the European Union) or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Do not use this site or contact Nouri support for urgent medical issues.
Eating disorders
If you or someone you know is struggling with disordered eating, calorie-counting tools can be harmful. Please reach out to a qualified professional or a support resource — in the United States, the National Eating Disorders Association helpline (1-800-931-2237) is a free starting point.
No healthcare relationship
Using this site or interacting with Nouri's AI assistant does not establish a doctor–patient or professional–client relationship. No information shared with the site or its AI agent is covered by HIPAA or any equivalent medical-confidentiality regulation.
